Tya Zebrowski Triumphs in Ericeira and Moves Closer to the CT

She had brushed it with her fingertips last year and now she is holding it firmly in her hands: the EDP Ericeira Pro trophy.

At just 14 years old, Tya has claimed her very first Challenger Series win in Ericeira, Portugal. Heat after heat, she outperformed her rivals, eliminating American Kirra Pinkerton and Israeli Anat Lelior, before taking the win in the final against Australia’s India Robinson with a score of 13.53 to 11.93.

With this European victory, she further secures her lead at the top of the Challenger Series rankings. Tya currently dominates the tour with 28 630 points, well ahead of Yolanda Hopkins with 23 375 points and Sally Fitzgibbons with 20 325 points.

“It feels so good, I am so happy” said Zebrowski. “Last year I finished second so winning here this year means so much. Thank you to my family, my sponsors, and I dedicate this win to my aunt. We love you and we miss you.”

The dream tour, as she likes to call it, is now within reach.

In 2024, Tya Zebrowski won three Qualifying Series events in just two months in Newquay in England, Pantin in Spain and Anglet in France. Shortly after, she made a strong impression at her very first Challenger Series in Ericeira in October, finishing second behind Australia’s Sally Fitzgibbons.

These results led her to claim the WSL Europe QS Champion title for the 2024 2025 season last April.
