European Best Groms Just Experienced The Most Innovative “Gabriel Medina Institute”

Hugo Prins (FR, 12 years old), Mathias Canhoto (PT, 11 years old), , 11, and Spanish surfer Kai Odriozola (SP,13 years old) and Hans Odriozola (SP, 10 years old), and coach Yann Martin just lived the best training experience ever at the Gabriel Medina high performance training center.

Imagined by Gabriel Medina, the IGM Academy began its activities in February 2017 with the best structure ever for young Brazilian surfers (from 9 to 17 years old) with the most advanced training tools and programs.

Created and used by the World Champion himself, the program goes from physical and fitness workshops, videos analysis (with Medina), English classes, medical, psychological and dental care end of course surf training. Surrounded by a staff of 23 professionals, our euro Groms had the best time ever.

"I have been to training centers across Europe and Australia, and there are all very good, but this one (IGM) is truly amazing. Our Surf Federations could definitely get inspired by this particular center.”

Explains a very excited Rip Curl Team Manager Yann martin.

Yann also points out another major issue linked to the IGM, the social issue, with the training and mandatory studies to keep young people off the streets. "For surfing, it is very important to have a training center like this, especially for the integration of teenagers. I think it's great that the money is used to invest in Brazilian children. It's admirable!".
