Congratulations On An Incredible Year, Owen Wright

At the start of this year, Owen Wright didn’t know if he’d be able to compete in the 2017 WSL season. Hell, at the start of this year, Owen Wright was basically re-learning to surf.

But today, not only did he finish 5th on the rankings ladder of the WSL, he also came to the end of one of the most astounding comeback years in professional sport, ever.

From winning his first event back at Snapper Rocks, to facing and conquering challenges like coming back to and competing at Pipeline, to growing into a loving father and partner – he’s done more than anyone, including himself, could have ever imagined at the start of this year.
